Rhetorical Analysis 1 (due before class 930 am 9/5)
Tania Smith’s “What is Rhetoric” defines rhetoric as the “strategic use of communication to accomplish purposes with target audiences.” The piece later claims that rhetoric is “defined by its function” and not by its topic or medium. Follow her lead, and rhetorically analyze a function from her piece that is less-than-obvious, excluding he primary function of informing and defining a term.
