This article explores the type of literacy that can be learned through games. The <\/span>author claims that gamers must think critically, and must use coordination and collaboration with other players in order to perform specific tasks (especially in multi player games). The article suggests a study that explains that games have become a more popular source of not only entertainment, but also community building and socializing. Because games are often full of text, they can also promote literacy as well. There are three types of literacies involved in gaming: visual, technological, and textual (36). Thus, gaming involves both literacy and rhetoric \u201cin action\u201d (37). The author brings up a good point too, that sometimes people are not necessarily addicted to the game, but play itself (36). <\/span><\/p>\n
